S'onqoba Vuba is a seasoned management executive with over 15 years of experience in the financial services, start-ups, operations, and consulting industries. Currently serving as the Chief Partnerships Officer at Old Mutual Group, S'onqoba is responsible for securing strategic partnerships that drive disruptive and sustainable innovation, through value creation for partners, their employees and their clients.
In addition to her role at Old Mutual, S'onqoba is also the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Perpetu8, an African organisation specialising in transforming small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into exponential organisations that leverage technology to scale faster than their competitors. Perpetu8 achieves this through connecting start-ups with highly skilled specialists/experts for strategy consulting and on-demand implementation consulting, thereby fostering business growth and job creation.
Furthermore, S'onqoba serves as the Chairman of the Board of the South African Actuarial Development Programme (SAADP), a non-profit organisation committed to developing black actuaries and driving transformation within the actuarial profession in South Africa. Over 20 years of existence, has supported over 900 students, produces over 630 graduates and more than 150 qualified actuaries.
S’onqoba also serves as a non-executive director of Marketplace Academy that sits at the nexus of government, schools and private sector, to drive the realisation and scaling of Schools of Specialisation. The work of Marketplace Academy is transforming schools into centres of youth skills development and drivers for reducing unemployment.
Passionate about social impact, entrepreneurship, and innovation, S'onqoba has been actively involved in various initiatives and organisations that promote these values. She has contributed her expertise to influential platforms such as the World Economic Forum, the Ministerial Task Team to develop a Support and Funding Model for Poor and “Missing Middle” Students and the Presidential Commission on the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
